How to gain more discernment.....From God??

First of all, discernment from the Holy Spirit is a GIFT to ANY believer who has repented.

Yes, you may LIVE in this world.....its secular culture and all, but you are more than likely wanting to KNOW how to connect to the divine.

Now the thing to note, is that some people have these "prophecy things" but the "prophecy things" are out of context with the scripture.  Perhaps the person is STILL holding grudges towards others.  Perhaps the person is STILL scorning little things that people do.  or perhaps the person is STILL committed to a "lawless" life style.

What ever the case may be, DISCERNMENT is a gift from the HOLY SPIRIT.  It is NOT a "psychological trick" of some sort. 

It may be used to make BIG decisions in faith and in life.

Perhaps a "dream" or vision comes to a person and the person is told to "visit a certain street" and there walking down the street is a person who was in need of some food, shelter or clothing.  The "dots" from the spirit connect and then a WISE person who KNOWS the scripture can use this knowledge to AIDE this particular individual.

This power is NOT to be used for "selfish" gain, but for HIS GLORY!  YES!  HE is HOLY and wants us to be HOLY too.

Some used the ability to discern to establish a marriage partner.  Do you have to have things "just perfect" to "get it"?  No, but having KNOWLEDGE of the scripture, especially knowledge from the first five books of the bible and how it connects to the rest of the bible can aide a person greatly!

Now one thing to beware of is this ability to "discern" doesn't always translate into REAL-LIFE judgment.  For example, a man felt that God was leading him to marry a certain woman, but that woman had NEVER gone through any sort of persecution and her family life was always peaceful.  She had never known a trial.  Her ancestors 500 years ago went through something, but she did not go through something.  As a result, in REAL-LIFE scenarios, such a woman would NOT have the strength to handle a marriage, unless she was granted proper wisdom and discernment from REAL LIFE situations as well.....as general knowledge.

Discernment is definitely a gift.  It should be used more often in Christianity.  It should never be CONDEMNED as the HOLY SPIRIT is active in our lives.

I have used the "discernment" power to meet a long time friend from school, just the day before she passed away.  Had I not felt "my heart" telling me to go meet with her, I would have missed the opportunity!  Now this can apply to many situations in life!  Not just major events.  Perhaps an opportunity to meet a new friend.  Perhaps God knows someone whom you never knew also knows someone you know.  Perhaps an opportunity to connect with "powerful influences."  Perhaps an opportunity to share gospel with someone who needs redemption.  Maybe there is someone who doesn't understand how to go through a certain trial in life, but you know what to do to overcome that particular burden.

What ever the case, it is good to use DISCERNMENT to help bring the KINGDOM to EARTH!

We should pray for MORE discerning people!
