Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Does this apply to some people, saved people or only certain people? What does it mean to have an abundant life?
For many in today's world, work is their goal. Paying bills is the only benefit to their life. What happens to the human mind and body if this is all there happens to be in life. Psychology starts to wear on a person. Feelings of oppression start to lead to feelings of depression. Constantly doing the same thing over and over again and never felling like life is "abundant" can really wear a person down to their bones!
The way a person talks to them-selves can influence what good they can do for others. If a person tells them selves that they are an "angry man" or an "angry woman" in any and all situations, then that is what they specifically are, ANGRY!
But JESUS actually paid a price for this internal "disease" called anger. Instead of consistently being angry at every single situation no matter what the situation happens to be, he said to FORGIVE! He said to no greater love hath any man than that he lay down his life for his friends.
Essentially, Jesus pointed out that abundance from life only comes from giving up our-selves and our selfish ways! As a result, pure psychology which is not angry at any and all situations will result.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
