Law and NT Explanation - Criminal Laws

(Christians may do these things in a "spiritual" sense and changing the approach to dealing with justice, but reality is that these laws are for the land of Israel and the times before Christ explained proper Justice and Mercy.)  CHRISTIAN DO meditate on these verses, OLD and NEW.  Gain better ground at the righteousness in Judgement of the Lord.

Criminal Laws

  1. Not to slay an innocent person (Ex. 20:13) (CCN32). See Life.
  2. Not to kidnap any person of Israel (Ex. 20:13) (according to the Talmud, this verse refers to stealing a person, distinguished from Lev. 19:11, regarding the taking of property) (CCN33).
  3. Not to rob by violence (Lev. 19:13) (CCN35).
  4. Not to defraud (Lev. 19:13) (CCN37).
  5. Not to covet what belongs to another (Ex. 20:14) (CCN40).
  6. Not to crave something that belongs to another (Deut. 5:18) (CCN41).
  7. Not to indulge in evil thoughts and sights (Num. 15:39) (CCN156).

(Exo 20:13)  Thou shalt not kill.

(Lev 19:13)  Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

(Exo 20:14)  Thou shalt not commit adultery.

(Deu 5:18)  Neither shalt thou commit adultery.

(Num 15:39)  And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

(Mat 5:39)  But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

(Mat 5:10)  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

(Mat 5:17)  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

(Mat 5:19)  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

(1Co 6:10)  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
