Did Pilot end up in paradise too? After all he put an innocent man on the cross?
Why do some say that Good Friday isn't really the true time that Jesus was on the cross?
Well.
Perspective matters.
Astronomy doesn't go away.
Moon, sun and stars are created in the beginning.
Now I know that various family believe and practice "Good Friday" as the time when Jesus went to the cross....
But Jewish people (those who follow torah) conditionally celebrate Passover.
The timing is similar.
But look at the section of my blog labeled Astronomy/Calendar Studies.
To me.
The "holiday" doesn't really save a person. It directs a person (Passover continues to this day). Ask the thief on the cross. He didn't have time to get down from the cross and celebrate "Passover" or even "good Friday" for that matter.
It is true that if Jesus was seen on the first day of the week. Yes, the scripture adequately records that he was visible on the first day of the week. Then going from Friday to Sunday morning DOES NOT give us Three Days and Three Nights in the EARTH! Yikes.
Does this mean we should ignore our ancestors claims about Jesus and his resurrection because they regularly have a good Friday tradition?
No.
It just means that religious traditions "blinded" the people, while the SCRIPTURE actually DOES line up with the words in scripture/nature/history! Down to the very last astronomical and animal detail (lion and lamb)!
I don't think that a person is bad for going to a Good Friday service (online during a pandemic), it is more about trusting in his goodness despite the ways of OLD ADAM.
Jesus came to redeem from the sin of OLD ADAM. In fullness he came. Trust in that. Yes, holidays differ around the world and interpretations may fail.....but OLD ADAM is redeemed by his blood (the lamb).....remember that thief...... he trusted and was fully able to enter paradise without trust in a holiday.
just think about it....
the king of kings is king of all the elders in the land .....
