There are various ways to live a frugal life. Supply and demand should not be your ultimate focus in this life. Rather, thinking about things on high, takes away the focus on what you do and don't have on hand. Perhaps think about how people in countries handle things when their country government structure abandons them. What types of things do they do to survive? Some do not survive very well, but some are prepared.
Consider times in history and how the people lived, when they did not have a lot of money to buy things. Did they know how to gather foods from the wilderness? Did they know how to feed people off of a bulk supply of onions? What about a large supply of cabbages? Somehow the people managed to survive in difficult times off of very little supply for food.
The more you study and know about how people lived in hard times, the more prepared you will be when money is short and needs are not getting fulfilled. Keep things clean and orderly for you and your household, in order to ease the burden during such times.
What about locations to store things in difficult times. Do you know how to weave baskets and make various rugs? Knowing these things can help in hard times so you don't have to run to a store to find storage containers. Things in nature can be used quite frequently and even decorated a little bit in order to fulfill various needs in the home. A bed frame can be made from sturdy tree posts. The posts may be wrapped with ropes in order to make the bed frame decorative in some way. Picture frames, toys, blankets, cutting tools, chairs and more can be made from things in nature if you are wise. Do not assume that everything needs to be purchased from a store in difficult times.
Consider recycling things! This is a great way to reinvest in what you already have on hand. Use some old yarn to wrap around a recycled milk jug. As a result, a beautiful basket is created! Re-use the old pie-tin to create a beautiful art-designed decoration. There is no need to spend a lot of money or great efforts to have nice little things in ones home.
What about entertainment in hard times. Boredom is sure to creep up. Consider the lillys of the valley. Do they seek to find entertainment from others or do they allow the wind to blow them in what ever direction they need to go? Do they purposefully make them selves more attractive and entertaining, or do they allow the creator to determine how they look attractive just be being them-selves?
The bible seems like a "bland" book for some people, but if a person knows how to read the bible with an entertaining voice and entertaining song, then the bible can become the most flavorful books on the shelf! It does not take a lot of money to create an entertaining scenario from a simple book!
What about needs for children and the elderly? Do you know how to work with fabrics? Once again, consider studying how people in the old-times on the old-paths took care of their own. They didn't give the young children fancy clothes until they were about 5 years old! Many times children walked around without shoes in the summer time! Children often only eat small portions so do not assume you need to feed them more than enough each day. They can survive off of simple pancakes and oatmeal with a little fruit here and there. If you have the ability to allow your children to work in a garden or gather foods from nature, this will teach the child how to live off of the land and not to worry about where the food comes from on this earth.
When things are difficult, seek power from on high! He gives wisdom and out of his mouth is understanding. If you don't know where to get a certain supply, ask him for support! Maybe someone will hear his call to supply you with box load after box load of garden produce!
