Christian Liberty: Removing Difficult Circumstances (1)

Persecution has happened towards bible-believing Christians in our past.  Persecution happens against bible-believing Christians today.  Persecution will probably happen against bible-believing Christians in the future, so long as Christ has not returned.

The more a person "meditates" on the scripture, the more likely some sort of persecution will come your way.  If you are GOOD at memorizing and understanding the depth of scripture (like you took a college level class that tested your knowledge of the bible), you will probably face the highest amount of persecution.  It could come from left-leaning sources (meaning they cater or twist things that the bible says) or it could come from right-leaning sources (meaning they cater or twist things that the bible says).

Either way, persecution is likely to come, even if you only have an 8th grade education and you belief the depth of scripture.  Should you run and hid from those who persecute?  It would depend upon the severity.  Jesus did say it was ok to flee persecution.  He also said not to be foolish about "evil men" and protect one's self with a "sword" if necessary.  Some cases, the persecutor stopped what they are doing and decided to follow the living and true God.  In other cases it IS safer to flee persecution, especially if there are children, disabled or widows involved.

There are NO countries on this earth where everyone is entirely safe from persecution.  Even if a person holds a non-resistance view point, someone WILL try to force a person to do evil, when the bible says a person should do good.

What is the relief in "difficult circumstances"?  It will depend on what a person can endure.  How much left-cheek do they have to slap before you give them the right cheek.  If the individual wants to deal with "on-line" slander, then they may deal with it.  If the individual wants to deal with people who vandalize their lawn and property, then they may deal with it.  When the world spins out of control, and seeks to find a way to "survive" off of the supermarket, there is likely to be an uproar somewhere, at sometime.
