Are messianic people Christian Zionists?

Now that is an unusual way to term the conditions of "christian zionist."

Essentially, this is like saying that all things that relate to JESUS (Yeshua) is associated with moving the "whole family" to Jerusalem.

The answer is simple.  Messianic people FAVOR the conditions of Jerusalem as the place of Mt. Zion, and consider that many important events happened there from a social and physical standpoint, but they do not "praise" the physical position of Mt. Zion in a way that it becomes the Idol.

In other words, many objects, many battles, many political folly things, many things have happened on Mt. Zion.  People in and around Jerusalem sell objects here and there.  False religious things come and go around Mt. Zion.  But the TRUTH of the GOSPEL as proclaimed from Mt. Zion lasts forever........

So a Messianic person may live around Israel.  They may visit Israel.  But they wouldn't want to "stay" in Israel, but rather would see the tabernacle as a place for PRAYER towards heavenly father, not as a place to rest one's head.

The New Jerusalem is the better place.

I believe a person may sense more HOLY living and PRACTICE by living in the wilderness areas around Jerusalem than right in the hub of the city.  The essential element of worship is REDEMPTION following repentance.

Deep intense bible study is the key element.
