Should Christians listen to secular music?

If a person works with disability people, there WILL be something that disabled people love.......guess what it is.  SINGING.

If a person can use a secular song to make someone smile, then that is a GREAT THING.  It is not wrong or sinful in any way.  In fact, it is a way to show love and concern for them.

Yes, I do agree that the message in some songs are used to insult others, benefit only a certain group or other things.  Other songs are tooooooo saucy and filled with pornography which is not good for the soul.  

As a whole, secular songs are fine, so long as the singer isn't idolized to the point of no-return as these people who sing these songs are sinners by nature (as we all are).  Some are not so bad and some are bad.  It all depends upon life experience and situation and the message (meditation on the scripture helps to weed out the weeds).  It is ok to listen to a person sing who is not a Christian and has a general good message.  It is also OK to listen to a song that the person grew up Christian but sings a secular song.

But as a whole, HYMNS are wonderful.  They benefit the soul. They can be carried in the heart anywhere. The messages are great and NO ONE cries when the musician isn't paid.

God gave people their -voice-....... I think it is GOOD to show this......to other people ;)

Some people sing some unusual "gospel songs" but the focus isn't quite in the correct angle.  Close....but not quite.....try focus on "feeding the poor" "visiting the disabled" etc etc.

Focus more on these types of things when it comes to gospel......songs.

Here is a song I improvised.......the shadow of myself will depart one day....but songs remain....hidden in the heart.
