"God's Laws" are like a basketball game....

"God's Laws" are like a basketball game.....maybe even a baseball game.

I could say a "football" game, as American's love their football....but that wouldn't really be the case.  Football causes a lot of rough forceful actions, and head butting (argument for no reason).

Essentially the rules are the rules.

They are laid out for the "players"

They can play in whatever way they need to play in order to win the game.  The way to win the game is with determination to succeed not only physically but morally.

Physical success requires a person to have "practiced."  A person needs to KNOW how their body works.  A person needs to know what their body can and cannot do in order to win the game.Of course their are tricky ways to do things with the body.  Like bouncing the ball on the ground in such a way that the ball suddenly enters the hoop for a score.  In God's laws, a person may need to "be tricky" in order to ensure that no revenge is shared (Lev 19:18). There are strength things to do with the body.  In God's laws, a person may need to use their physical strength to guide the blind as they go along the road (Lev 19:14).

Of course, when people depart AWAY from God's laws and assume THEIR view is better than the GAME PLAN, the results are OFTEN a disaster.  Sexual impurity (I speak about this issue in this blog, hopefully without a "plan" to dismantle people's choices, as you may notice.), though it seems like a great way to fix people's lack of "brotherly love," is NOT really the way to go.  Throwing that basket ball at the opposing team out of anger (perhaps a person throws rocks at the infidelity partner Lev 18:20), will obviously get the team member booted from the game or even the entire team.  If it is severe enough it could land the basketball player in JAIL!  All in all, the goal of sexual impurity, though it seems oh so wonderful, and free-loving.....only resulted in the problems that Tamar had to deal with, Joseph had to deal with (false accusation), issues in land of Israel including CANNIBALISM!!! and among others in the bible.

So THINK wisely about these matters of "God's laws."  NOT cherishing HATRED in one's heart is a GOOD thing and allows you to PLAY the "game of life" more efficiently.  If you HAVE hatred in your heart....guess who noticed it........1. Jesus/God/Holy Spirit 2. Your mother 3. Your father 4. The people your mother and your father are related to (yes, that is YOUR family.....not someone else) 5. Your neighbor 6. Your Co-worker 7. Your friend (remember Judas betrayed Jesus) 8. Your Boss and even 9. YOUR ENEMY!

Ok.

So if you cherish playing the game of life correctly, consider using "God's laws" as a basic "structure" to TEACH us about JESUS and what he did for US!!!!!  YAY!  They are NOT a burden, when you realize JESUS simply wants to offer us REST!

Simple as that.

The game of basketball.

To do better at the game of basketball, what do you need to do????  STUDY the game plans!  YES..... so regularly STUDY God's laws.... not as a way to force OTHERS to do what God wants you to do.....but so that the "game" of life is more efficient for you!

Even in the "tricky" computer-era (yes, I took a college level computer programming class or two).... a person who isn't wise....and studied up....will NOT understand what these guys are doing.  Don't expect to "get-it" overnight........It takes YEARS to understand their ways of doing things......correctly.

Unfortunately we are HUMAN and we CAN'T perform "the game" appropriately or the way HE wants it.  So we need a savior to FIX these things.  Mat_1:21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.......  we needed a TIME OUT..... HE needed to come in and take over....in order to help us get the victory.

PS.  the "nakedness thing" in the book of Leviticus.  Well, I will give some clues....some people do NOT know whom they are related to on a day to day basis in their community, especially if they are living in the same area their ancestors lived within the past 200 years or so.  A few generations ago women wore LONG SKIRTS......now in this generation a third-cousin could be YOUR neighbor.....ummmm that could stir up some things (chemistry) hun....so think about what FOUNDATION you lay.  It isn't wrong to be beautiful (Est. 2:7) but it is wrong to stir up lust (Matt 5:28, Pro 6:25).
