Christian Liberty: Social Justice and Righteousness (1)

There are many instances where social conditions are explained very clearly and efficiently in the psalms and proverbs.  In fact, a person could "skip" all of the college psychology and sociology classes simply by meditating and memorizing psalms and proverbs.  The word is THAT effective when it comes to social justice and righteousness!

The psalms and the proverbs have many verses about the -NATURE- of Jesus' heart.  His goodness, his overcoming of the mockers, his ability to stand up for the poor and unfortunate.  His strength and bravery and so much more!  His character is PERFECT in every way shape and form.

We in our own strength could not possibly help the people in need or overcome our issues with "mockery" without his aide!  So, does this mean we should put away the good bible verses and maintain our own form of self-righteousness?  NO!  Instead seek more of the verses and truths from God's word.  As a result, the memorizing of Psalm 119 (encourages a love for God's laws!) can bring light in dark places, because you KNOW his words from the heart, including the elimination of slavery and other evils that brew in this world!
