The Bible is not addressed to Just Anybody

Delmas Gehman
Message 1 of 1 , Today at 08:00 AM

August 30.
The Bible Is Not Addressed to Just Anybody

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever. Isaiah 40:8
That many people find the Bible hard to understand will not be denied by those acquainted with the facts.
I venture to give a short answer to the question, "Why is the Bible hard to understand?": I believe that we find the Bible difficult because we try to read it as we would read any other book, and it is not the same as any other book!
The Bible is a supernatural book and can be understood only by supernatural aid. It is not addressed to just anybody. Its message is directed to a chosen few. Whether these few are chosen by God in a sovereign act of election or are chosen because they meet certain qualifying conditions I leave to each one to decide as he may.
But whatever may have taken place in eternity, it is obvious what happens in time: some believe and some do not; some are morally receptive and some are not; some have spiritual capacity and some have not. It is to those who do and are and have that the Bible is addressed. Those who do not and are not and have not will read it in vain!
The saving power of the Word is reserved for those for whom it is intended. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him. The impenitent heart will find the Bible but a skeleton of facts without flesh or life or breath!

How do you schedule your time here on earth?

Life on earth is temporary.  That is just the way it is.  Recently my husband had a friend drown in an accident.  He was an intelligent kid though he ended up with emotional disturbances and the inability to be there as a father to his own child because of those disturbances.  What children need for intellectual growth and maturity is scripture.  Of course it should NEVER be forced on them or it wouldn't be true and curing to their spirit.  Rather it should be given as an intellectual challenge to their mind and spirit.  They need to be taught that scripture is based off of a biblical calendar and have them memorize it.  That will help them understand its logical foundation better.  The Gregorian calendar is NOT a part of biblical structure although we can still use the words that Christ spoke in the middle of any given circumstance and life happening.

In our home I have been working with our own fully free from burden Biblical based curriculum.  What it consists of is reading scripture throughout the day every day.  Normally a person would think that that would be so "boring" but it is rather interesting and fully intellectually challenging to any who would listen.  I am not against using other literature or sources but rather just interested in managing my time more wisely.

In countries where Christians are regularly persecuted patterns like these reading patterns are quite common!  It is amazing how much we American Christians have forgotten to rely on truth and have put so much emphasis on intellectual idolatry which only leads to less fulfilling and out of control lives especially if not surrounded by love.

A schedule of what this looks like is the following:
6:00 Wake up Personal prayer, bible reading and such
6:30 Outdoor excercise
7:00 breakfast
7:30 clean-up get dressed
8:00 Psalms and Proverbs study.  Read 5 psalms and one proverb.
8:30 walk outside
9:00 Further study/ chores.
9:30 Law study. Read 2 chapters.
10:00 Lunch preparation pick up.
10:30 Further Study/ Chores/ Pick up
11:00 Lunch Preparation
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Clean up / Pick up
12:30 Rest
1:00 Old Testament Study. 3 or 4 chapters
1:30 Further Study
2:00 Chores/ Pick up
2:30 Craft/ Grooming Etc.
3:00 Further Study
3:30 Old Testament Study continued
4:00 Chores/ Pick up
4:30 Out door activity
5:00 Supper preparation
5:30 Words of Christ.  (Can be used alone for replacement of preacher and may be used if you do not want to follow "christian" teaching for spiritual nourishment) Read one chapter.
6:00 Supper
6:30 Clean-up / New Testament Study. Read one chapter.
7:00 Evening Activity
7:30 Outdoor Activity
8:00 Reading Fun/ Preschool
8:30 Groom/ bath/ bedtime

For further information check out my hens and chicks blog.  I describe how I entertain preschoolers with scripture by a variety of activity.

Is this reading pattern too religious?  No as it is truth and intellect based and nothing but that.  Religious means that a person bows, sits stands or refuses knowledge and wisdom in any form or shape.  Of course the purpose in our life is to worship God and him alone and build our culture in glory to him with no theological strings attached.  For further study I include child-bite size study of math problems and other information that is at college level or higher.

The Donut Shop

The Donut Shop

A worker at a donut shop was given a job.  He was to sell donuts to anyone

who asked and payed properly.  He was never to allow thieves to have access

to the donuts.

Everyday a police officer came in to the donut shop to buy donuts.  One day

the police officer built up a bit too much pride in his authority and

stated, "I'm a police officer authority figure in the community and I am

going to take all the donuts out of this shop without payment.  I don't want

you to tell the boss about my actions."

Should the donut shop worker give in and give this authority figure access

to the donuts without payment and not telling the boss?  The donut shop

worker obviously has his flaws and weaknesses but he still would like to

remain a light in the community.

A parent who has the physical ability to educate his own child was given a

job.  He was to teach and serve truth to any child who asked and needed.  He

was never to allow theives to have access to the children to teach the child

lies or leave the child to him self.

Everyday the parent used resources from the public and surrounding community

environment to help educate the child.  One day a public authority built up

a bit too much pride in his authority and stated, "I am a public social

worker and I am going to take the children out of your hands for a few hours

each day so he can socialize with others who believe that smoking is ok,

drinking is ok, stealing is ok, abortion is ok and anti-semitism is normal.

We're going to leave the child by himself in a school desk and experiment

to see if he will choose good or evil and we are not going to give him access to the book that explains clearly how to choose the good and not the evil.  I don't want you to call the creator

of this universe about this and tell him that I am doing this."

Should the parent give in and give this authority figure access to the child

without payment and not telling the boss?  The parent worker obviously has

his flaws and weaknesses but he still would like to remain a light in the

community.

There is a book that shows us how to teach our children to choose good and

not evil.  It is the bible.

We as parents are required by our creator to train up a child in the way he

should go.  If we leave the children to themselves they will more than

likely give into the evil and fall for it.  Especially if they are

surrounded by untruths.  A daughter will fall for the friends that claim

that living a slutty prostitute life is good and serving money rather than

God is more important.  A son will fall for the idea that using others

rather than serving others will give him joy in life.  Ultimately the child

will believe that destroying the next generation via abortion or destroying

the generation before will benefit society and themselves.

So the question remains, does being a Christian light in the community mean

that we give in to authorities who are clearly disobeying God's authority

help us to further God's light of truth?  The clear and resounding answer is

no and it will remain that way.  We are to die to ourselves and put our

children first and serve the generation that came before us.  We are lights

when we serve the community NOT when we give in to it.

Will the REAL mama please stand up

Just because you happen to be the birth mother of a child does not make you THE mama of the child. If you hurriedly get up in the morning and rush your little one off for someone else to dry his tears, counsel him, provide medicine to cure him, feed him lunch, and read him a book, please do not call yourself his mama. That child is being "adopted" out everyday, with the added insult of being yanked around from one adopted mama to another. In order to bond properly and grow up emotionally stable, a small child must spend the vast majority of his time with his one true, permanent mama, whom God has ordained to daily pour knowledge and love into that little life. A true mother doesn't turn that child into the slave of another in order to get him to sit still in a desk and get a load of brainwash rather than truth. A true mother doesn't pay someone else to raise and teach the child her way. A true mother doesn't give credit to the television set for teaching her child so much knowledge and good character. If a true mother has been given a disability or physical limitation then there is a need to "hire" another helper to help raise the child. There is no such thing as a mother that is too dumb to love and read and cook for her own child. Lets stop the child enslavement as it only causes mothers to come back weeping because the children end up choosing sin and destruction over life and joy. The children end up in sexual impurity, delayed management of their time, rotten friends and confusions about how to interact properly within marriage and more. If you as a mother do not feel that you have enough of a "professional" ability to meet a child's need, then there are books and resources out there to help you gain more knowledge and wisdom on any given area. The God who loves us also gave us a bible to help meet the child's needs and protect the child from evil.

Homemade Recipe for Tempera Paint

The feminist energy does get drained

When a woman tries to please one man at work and another man at home, her affections become divided, and her feminine beauty becomes hardened. Helen Andelin, in her book, Fascinating Womanhood, poetically reveals what a wife relinquishes if she works outside her home: “The moon, when it moves from its sphere of night into day, loses its luster, its charm, its very poetry.”[138] When a woman’s employments, delights, and ministries are based from her home, she radiates God’s glory as no one else could in her stead. But when a woman invests her energy in a career outside of her home, she loses her feminine luster. In addition, she takes on a double curse—the man’s curse in addition to the woman’s (see Genesis 3:16-19). Andelin continues, “devotion to your household, family, and charity enhances feminine charm, whereas employment outside the home does little or nothing for it.”[139] So, apart from the implication of divided loyalty with two different authorities, even the practical fruit of a woman choosing a career outside her home fails to equal the satisfying glory of homemaking. If you desire to work because you find yourself bored at home, Andelin states, “the problem is that you are buying happiness at the expense of your family. You are putting your desires ahead of their needs. This is never justified.”[140] She goes on to say, “Your child … doesn’t want you to be bright, talented, chic, or smart. … He just wants you to love him. He will be the one who pays the price for your wanting to have it all.”[141] So it is evident that not only does working for another man put a woman in relational compromise, but a career outside the home also does not allow a woman or her family to fully thrive—contrary to what feminists claim.

I've read the book by Helen Andelin as well.  Very good and inspiring book to just be better women not to compete with men.

Link between parents child and parents

The link between parent and child is very strong, and a baby or child easily picks up a parent's feelings. If you feel grumpy, so too will your child. When tension between parents runs high, the emotional effect on the child can be so strong as to disturb energy flow and cause illness. Many cases of asthma in children have been traced back to great tension between the parents. In some instances, parents have been considering a separation, but have not told their children. However, the children have subconsciously detected the tension, which then manifested itself as asthma.
Children may even pick up or "borrow" diseases from their parents. For example, one child with asthma did not respond to any treatments. After some time it was discovered that the mother had a severe lung condition, which she had not revealed. She decided to take treatment herself, and as her condition improved, so did her child's asthma. in the words of an old Chinese saying: "Treat the mother to treat the child."

If the mother needs some repair in the relationship I suggest for medical purposes to invest time in reading "fascinating womanhood pdf" and completing the assignments. I also suggest reading "created to be his helpmete" by Debi Pearl as she explains the difference and balance between the burlesque side of a woman and the faith side of a woman towards a husband quite well.
