Have you ever encountered or experienced the drain of depression? Many times people can become depressed because they are looking at the sin of others and trying to judge that rather than looking at one's own personal sin and curing that. Religion doesn't cure depression as there are people who are in "christian" groups who still find that they become depressed. In God's eyes, depression is a basic lack of joy in one's life. In fact, in the eyes of a parent it looks like a child who whines. When the Israelites whined in Moses' day, God struck the people who whined with the bites of serpents and snakes so that the people actually died. In our day, people attend the psychiatrist thinking that will cure their depression, only to find out that they are in bondage to death roe as the psychiatrist feeds them all sorts of concoctions of unhelpful depression meds.
God's cure for the Israelites who whined in that day was to "look" at the serpent on the pole to get cured from their snake bites so that they would not die.
As you can see in the verses below, Christ (the son of man), IS the serpent in the wilderness:
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

If you are skilled in mathematics you will find that the pharmaceutical remedy of depression meds actually does more harm than good. Statistically, the death rate of those on depression meds is much higher than those who are not. on depression meds.
So what are the steps to overcome depression??
1. Make SURE you are revealing all inner feelings and have a walking talking relationship with Christ. Go on a "date" or a "counsel session" with Christ and reveal to him your troubles. Christ knows all things about all people all the time, he will have the BEST listening ear around.
2. Pray for others in bondage to depression at the same time each day.
3. Read the bible regularly. Prefer the KJV in English speaking countries as it is the cheapest bible on US soil. Also evidence has shown that women who read KJV are least likely to encounter emotional strain and stress in life. It also translates back to original Hebrew and Greek the best.
4. Witness to others and speak about Christ to others.
5. If you are attending a psychiatrist at this moment in time, you may find a legal document for removal of depression meds from your list of necessary medical treatment from www.settingcaptivesfree.com website. You may just "stop" all treatment at the psychiatrist, but some meds are dangerous to the body to stop immediately and you may end up BACK at the treatment facility with even MORE troubles than you had before, so PLEASE check into that first.
6. Cut off ALL and anyone who causes you to get angry. If that person will not leave you alone, state the words "I need you to stay away from me, because you are making me mad and I DO NOT want to get mad" The flesh has a tendency to get mad. Christ wants us to live by the Spirit not in the flesh.
7. Serve others as much as possible. The flesh does not want to "work" and serve others. Pray for strength in serving others. Serving others may mean that you learn new things on how to improve your skills in various areas in life.
8. Read, memorize and meditate on bible passages each day.
9. Fellowship and worship with others who do not practice sin filled behaviors but strictly follow scripture. Avoid liberal churches who proclaim that drunkenness, sodomite lifestyle, fill in gaps with pagan practices and/or claim that weapon's of war will solve the problems of our world.
10. If you are still having minor bouts of depression, you could try herbal or alternative remedies instead. St. Johns wort, fish oil and others are some possible solutions. You may also try other therapeutic remedies like journalism.
Bellow are a few verses to memorize that can fill our "anger built" flesh with truth and life of Christ.
Psa_16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psa_21:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
Psa_27:6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
Psa_30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psa_32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
Psa_35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psa_42:4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Psa_43:4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
Psa_48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Psa_51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Psa_51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psa_65:13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
Psa_67:4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
Psa_105:43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
Psa_126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Psa_132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
Psa_132:16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
Psa_137:6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
You may also apply the same principles if you have suffered with other forms of mental illness like anxiety, OCD, bipolar, schizophrenia or other issues that can hinder or demean the value of your life.
Always remember, the problems in our world cannot nor ever will be solved by a fleshly solution. The problems of our world can ONLY be solved by Christ. We are all strangers and pilgrims of this world and we all need Christ to fill our flesh with truth and strength. DECLARE WAR on your flesh. Your flesh wants to lie, kill, steal and destroy yourself AND others whom God loves and You love. Send it to the caner and replace it with the blood and flesh of Christ.
